About Us
Rosh OB/GYN is a growing maternal-fetal medicine and women’s health organization dedicated to providing excellent care and a seamless patient experience. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable (A/R) Representative to support patient billing and collections using our Athena and Medi systems.
Position Summary
The A/R Representative is responsible for managing patient balances, answering billing inquiries, verifying eligibility, and coordinating payment collection activities. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, patient-focused, and understands the importance of timely collections and clear communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage patient responsibilities and outstanding balances in Athena and Medi EHR systems
- Check and verify patient eligibility and coverage prior to services as needed
- Communicate with patients by phone, email, and text to resolve billing questions and collect payments
- Handle inbound calls related to patient balances and billing concerns
- Proactively contact patients with overdue balances and follow up on payment arrangements
- Send out balance notifications via text and email using approved messaging templates and bulk messaging
- Collect monthly payment plan charges from the Monthly Payer List on the first Tuesday of each month
- Track payment activity and update internal notes and ledgers accurately
- Coordinate with the billing team to escalate insurance-related issues or claim rejections
- Support preparation of aging reports, refunds, and write-off reviews
- Maintain professionalism and patient privacy in compliance with HIPAA standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree a plus
- 1–2 years of experience in healthcare billing, medical office, or revenue cycle (preferred)
- Experience using Athenahealth and/or Medi is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of eligibility checking, insurance plans, deductibles, and patient responsibility workflows
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Customer service mindset with a calm and respectful phone presence
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow through on tasks independently
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday
Remote flexibility may be available for the right candidate
