Lindsay Hansen, MSN WHNP-BC
Lindsay brings a vast array of experience to our practice. She originally trained as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) in the UK, where she graduated with First Class honors from the University of Manchester.
She trained in a large obstetric teaching hospital with its own inbuilt low risk birthing center. Her patient population was varied and included female prisoners, as was her work which included home births.
Lindsay moved to the US in 2015 and interned as a home birth midwife in NYC attending births in all 5 boroughs, especially in the Orthodox Hasidic community in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
She then moved to Atlanta and completed her masters degree in Women’s Health graduating cum lauda at Emory University. She remained at Emory for the following year taking up a clinical instructor post, teaching Obstetrics at Masters level and Forensic Nursing on the undergraduate program.
During her training she worked on a research project with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) educating young girls on the benefits of dual contraception and spent time with new moms caring for their newborns overnight at home.
Lindsay has a holistic view of healthcare and strives to put emphasis on wellness, education and teaching while working with women, supporting them to make informed decisions about all their healthcare choices.
Lindsay also holds a Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Manchester.
Lindsay lives in Long Island with her husband, Sam and their 18 month old son, Max.
